British Prime Minister David Cameron has called the prosecution of Yulia Tymoshenko disgraceful.
"We completely agree that the treatment of Mrs Tymoshenko, whom I have met on previous occasions, is absolutely disgraceful. The Ukrainians need to know that if they leave the situation as it is, it will severely affect their relationship not only with the UK but with the European Union and NATO," David Cameron said in the House of Commons.
The British prime minister also noted that UK Foreign Secretary William Hague made a very strong statement regarding Yulia Tymoshenko’s sentence, stressing that the trial was subject to numerous and serious violations of fundamental legal principles, in direct contradiction of common European values.
