On 14 of February in Ukraine as in many other countries worldwide, people celebrate the Day of St. Valentine. In this day it is used to present gifts and cards in the shape of hearts to the people, whom you love. This holiday came to Ukraine recently, and very soon became very popular among young people and nowadays most of the population of the Ukraine celebrate this holiday.
"First time I had got the Valentine card in 1993 from my English friend-by-mail, her name is Laura." - one Ukrainian fellow told us. "Before that nobody knew about this holiday, but starting from that first time I prepared cards in form of heart each year. This year St. Valentine’s Day was on the eve of 10th anniversary of our wedding and we still congratulate each other with my wife."

By Monday, 30 of January , it was opened the exhibition of miniature copies of Euro 2012 stadiums. In the Polish city of Lodz there were represented all 8 stadiums from Ukrainian Kiev, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Lviv and Polish Gdansk, Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw.
The miniature copies of the stadiums were placed in the scientific and technical center Experimentarium in more than 200 square meters hall. Miniature models of Euro 2012 stadiums consist of plastic and foam and were constructed in a scale of 1:100 during more than six months.
Exhibition of Euro 2012 host cities stadiums miniatures should be opened till the end of February.

Officially announced, that there is no problems with accommodation in Ukraine during the the soccer championship EURO 2012. "We have enough rooms, but there are questions concerning reporting this information to the foreign fans", Director of UEFA Euro 2012 in Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky says at the press conference in Kyiv on Thursday, 31 of January.
Lubkivsky said that for the period of the championship less than 20% of the hotel rooms and another accommodation places are reserved by tourist agencies today in Ukrainian cities that host Euro 2012. The head of the Euro 2012 local organizing committee said that 80% of the fans are searching for the budget accommodation of the lowest category in Ukraine.

It came an opinion, that hosting the Euro 2012 may cause losses to Ukraine's economy in amount of 6-8 bln USD.
The four-year buildup to the Euro 2012 Soccer Championship needs a huge investment. Initially it was planned that the main investors of Euro 2012 will be private companies. But at fact the state invested the major funds in the sports and infrastructure projects for the tournament and now it is clear, that some sport facilities for Euro 2012, such as the Olympic stadium in Kiev will never be recouped.
To prepare for the championship just in
Soccer Championship it was already spent more, than 5 billion 3 million 320 000 hryvnia.Instead of that, that money could be spent on:
- the repairing of children's hospital "Ohmadet" - 900 million hryvna;
- the modernization of metro and train parks - near 1 billion hryvnia;
At the threshold of the coming EURO 2012 the special testing programm for Terminal D of Boryspil airport was started.
In this program, were involved ORAT command specialists (Munich Airport) and it includes holding a series of tests, whose main objective is to ensure a coordinated start of operating of the new terminal. The 1-st basic test took place on Wednesday, 18 of January 2012. In it were involved 50 volunteers, who imitated the registration process, bypassing the security control, passport control, etc.
Except volunteers in this tests were involved representatives of various control services. Communication with the border guards at their workplace took place in foreign languages.
As it reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine, till Euro 2012 in the new terminal "D" it should be held about 15 of such trainings.
Z-cards () for EURO 2012 were published to help foreign visitors navigate in Kyiv.
Z-map is a paper medium which has a special format and is folded several times between two covers. It should has an identical size as regular bank cards. They have to become a kind of reference books for those tourists and fans who will visit the European Championship in Kyiv in summer 2012.
