Chernobyl Exclusion Zone must be as accessible to the public.
Minister of Emergency Situations of Ukraine Viktor Baloga convinced that the exclusion zone of Chernobyl nuclear power plant should be as much as possible open and accessible to the public all comers. The zone of Chernobyl NPP starting from December 2, 2011 has once again become accessible to everyone visiting for informational purposes according to new rules for staying in it. But anyway, nowadays they are not talking on regular tourist travels.
Remind, that the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine in February 2011 approved the procedure for visiting by the citizens of Ukraine, foreign delegations and foreigners the Exclusion Zone and the mandatory evacuation zone through tour operators. But, at the suit of the Prosecutor General, the Kyiv District Administrative Court declared the order as illegal.
Then, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has developed a new procedure for visiting the Exclusion Zone, taking into account comments of law enforcement. The updated procedure is approved by order of Ministry of Emergency Situations , agreed to by all interested government structures and is registered in the Ministry of Justice.
