London the most respected city in the world, according to a recent survey by Reputation Institute. In the list of top 100 Kiev won 56 seats, ahead of Dubai, Las Vegas and Shanghai.

As reported by the Reputation Capital Group, London has earned the highest reputation in 2011, according to an annual study of Reputation Institute 2011 City RepTrak ™, which studies public opinion on the 100 cities in 59 countries around the world.
The study examined the overall credibility, respect, admiration and positive emotions in relation to these cities, as well as perceptions of 13 different attributes associated with the economy, governance and attractiveness. Results of a survey of more than 35 000 respondents around the world have shown that in London the highest reputation in all of these components, followed by Geneva, Sydney and Vienna - while cities such as New York and Hong Kong took only 25 - e and 46th place respectively.
"Research shows that the good reputation of the city requires hard work in many different areas - to be attractive only to cultural or international center for business is no longer enough," - says Nicholas Trades, managing partner of Reputation Institute, an international consulting firm specializing in reputation management.
After a period of economic downturn, London can find solace in the study results, as it prepares to host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

At the same time, experts note that, although the most respected country in this study were Canada, Sweden, the reputation of the cities in those countries - such as Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and Stockholm - have shown place between 10 and 18. Experts Reputation Institute also measured the effect of people's perceptions of 13 attributes, general reputation of the city, and found that the perception of 'safe city for visitors and residents "- is the most important attribute for reputation management of the city.
This may explain the relatively low Ranking of U.S. cities such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago - all housed at the secondary level. However, this figure did not stop London to win first place in the overall rankings, despite occupying less than impressive 22th place on security.
